This lithograph was created by the artist Hedwig Pauwels and the Dutch Museum of Lithography in reference to the poem Krekels (‘Crickets’) by the Flemish poet Cyriel Gladines.

Hedwig Pauwels (1934) is an internationally acclaimed phenomenon. Among other things, he was a lecturer in graphic techniques at the Higher Institute for Art Education in Hasselt (BE) for 40 years. He taught etching, wood engraving, screen printing and lithography. He makes occasional graphics and ex-libris. His graphics radiate a playful fantasy, life optimism and sense of humor.

The moving poem Krekels (‘Crickets’) about dementia is by the Flemish poet Cyriel Gladines (1943). He studied Germanic Philology at the KU Leuven. His poetry has received numerous awards in Flanders and the Netherlands.

  • Printing press: High-speed printing press “Komet” No. 10266. Built in 1926 by the German Machinefabriek Johannesberg in Geisenheim a/Rhein. Max. print size: 70×100 cm. Weight: 7200 kg.
