Opening expo Drawn to Nature
20 June 2026
On Friday evening, June 19, the new exhibition Drawn to Nature opened at the museum to great interest. This exhibition is entirely dedicated to the connection between the city and nature. After a warm welcome by Director Maarten Kentgens, a substantive and personal introduction followed from curator Rachelle van den Broek. Alderman Bram Bots and Bernadette Hemels, Director of naturereserve De Groote Heide, emphasized a shared common thread in their speeches: how valuable the museum and its art, as well as the nature of De Groote Heide, are for finding peace and broadening our horizons.
We are proud of this exhibition featuring lithographs by artists such as Theo van Hoytema and M.C. Escher. Artist Stefan Bleekrode created two new works inspired by Breda and Den Bosch especially for this exhibition. As a festive opening ceremony, the beautiful lithograph of Den Bosch was unveiled by Alderman Bram Bots together with Stefan Bleekrode.
