Joost Krijnen’s first lithography presented

Last weekend, Joost Krijnen’s first lithography was presented by M. Simons Gallery at the new NAP+ art fair in Amsterdam. The lithograph titled ‘Lago‘ was made during a residency in the Dutch Museum of Lithography in collaboration with master printer Gertjan Forrer. This project was made possible by the Mondriaan Fund.

The lithograph Lago depicts a swan emerging from the water. Based on a scene Krijnen saw at Lago di Garda in Italy, he took the swan and placed it in front of a theater curtain as he too entered the stage, which captured the Italian swan’s apparent sense of drama.

The lithograph was printed in an exclusive edition of 21. The dimensions are 64 x 45.5 cm. The work is for sale at Michiel Simons gallery.
